Rio For Schools

The Rio for Schools benefit program provides wholesale price breaks on nearly everything Rio Grande offers. 

As a student at Metalwerx, you are entitled to this benefit for 6 months when you take a class! Also, all benefits are extended for an additional 6 months from the start of every class you take. The Rio for Schools registration code is included in email class confirmations. 

Rio Grande has different account levels. Rio for Schools is one level, but everyone can have a maker account, regardless of student or business status.

How to Set Up an Account with Your Code

  1. Go to riogrande.com and set up an account, or update your account if you already have one.

  2. Go the "Account Info" section.

  3. Select “I have a code from my Rio for Schools instructor.

  4. Enter your code.

  5. Once that is done, you will see the Green RFS stone in the upper left...you might need to refresh the page.

Good to Know:

  • On your account page, you should not add "Metalwerx" as the company. If you don't have a company you should leave it blank, or add your name or the name of your company.

  • If you were already enrolled in Rio for Schools as of April 2021, you don't need to do anything. You're grandfathered in under the old program until April 2022.

  • Students who are already registered with a wholesale account or as a Rio Pro member, please enter the code as way for Rio to help Metalwerx. Entering the code lets them know how many students we have and what are the best ways they can help.

  • Not a current student? You can also lock in wholesale benefits by updating your Rio Grande account with your Federal Employee Identification Number, State Tax ID, Jeweler Board of Trade number or Secretary of State business registration.
