Spinning Rings

Would you like your jewelry to do something? Join us for this workshop to make a ring that spins! It is constructed from two bands, inner and outer. The outer band rotates around the inner band so that you will no longer sit in board meetings...bored!

Meet the instructor

Sarah Doremus lives and works in Deer Isle, ME. She has taught Jewelry at Dearborn Academy in Arlington, MA. She earned both a BS in Art History from Northeastern University and a BFA from the Massachusetts College of Art. An active sculptor and metalsmith, her work has been shown in numerous publications and galleries, both invitational and solo, throughout the United States. Her most recent work was shown in 'Toys Designed by Artists' at the Arkansas Art Center and Museum, Where she won the purchase award.

 

Materials & Tools

The materials fee for this workshop is $50 and payable upon registration. It includes 20 ga and 18 ga sterling silver, and misc supplies to complete the project.

Students should bring
  • Small hand towel
  • Tool box (shoe box, plastic tackle box etc.)
  • Old tooth brush (for cleaning)
  • Ruler
  • Ultra Fine point Sharpie permanent marker
  • Sketchbook, pen and pencil
