Channel Setting

In this advanced stone setting class, we will introduce the basics of channel setting, starting with single stone exercises and progressing to a basic ring.
Students will learn to use heart burs and come to understand the concept of undercutting seats; skills that will translate into other setting approaches as well.
Students must have ample prior faceted stone setting experience and confidence and skill with the flex shaft.
This class is 5 sessions long. Each class meets for 3 hours. If a make-up class is necessary, it can be held on April 4.

Please note that Metalwerx has some of these on hand for student use, but you might have to share. It is preferable to have your own.
- Safety glasses
- Optivisor with #7 lens
- Loupe
- Bezel pusher
- Hammer setting tools
It is highly likely that students will need to purchase additional burs during the course of the class- product numbers will be provided.
