Jewelry II
Instructor: Ms. Joy Raskin
Level: Intermediate Requirements: Jewelry I or Equivalent Program: Winter Status: Closed Length: 9 Sessions Tuition: $ 450 Materials: $ 40 Date: January 18, 2012 - March 21, 2012 Time: Every Wednesday at 6:00 PM - 9:00 PM Location: Metalwerx
This jewelry II course will focus on a variety of techniques to increase confidence at the torch and successful planning and completion of projects. Students will get tips for solving problems with finishing, soldering and stone setting.
Following demonstrations, there will be several technique-based projects. These projects will expand the student's skill set, and include unique bezel and tube settings, forming a hammered cable link chain, and adding pattern and color to metal through solder inlay. As time permits, students will work on a project of their own design that incorporates techniques learned in the course.
This class is 9 sessions long. Each session is 3 hours. There will be no class on February 22. If a make-up class is necessary, it can be held on March 28 and/or April 2.
