Come and join Chris Ploof for a workshop in his Rhode Island studio! Chris has instructed at Metalwerx many times and is now making a special series of small classes available to Metalwerx students. These workshops will take place in Pawtucket, RI where Chris has recently expanded his studio and has plenty of comfortable space for workshops in the newly renovated mill space.
This class will teach students how to make their own small anvils out of railroad track! Learn to cut, grind and machine a piece of railroad track into a beautiful and useful small bench anvil.
More about Chris Ploof's Studio:
This new space will allow students to branch out from hand tools and to work on a larger scale. These classes will encourage safety and allow students to see another well equipped facility and to gain hands on experience with tools outside of the normal jewelry realm. Tools such as band saws, belt sanders, angle grinders, mills, lathes, cutting torches and welders allow for the creating of tools and fixtures that can be used for a lifetime.
Each class is limited to six students.
Metalwerx will send out directions to registered students 2 weeks prior to the workshop. Hotel recommendations are available upon request.
