So you've fallen in love with the process of chainmaking, but don't know what to do next - join us in exploring many options to finish your chains and make them functional! We will discuss making and installing end caps and terminations as well a number of traditional clasp styles.

In addition, students will also explore more complex forms of loop-in-loop chain, including strap style and multi-directional chains.

Ann was featured in last September's issue of the MJSA journal as part of an article called Finding the Perfect Fit, written by Shannon Cournoyer, which discusses design choices and approaches to working with findings. Ann discusses why she prefers to design and handcraft these elements: "I find that this particular approach also suites my work in terms of longevity. A handmade chain is an investment...by manufacturing my own findings, I have a level of control over their quality and function that I consider critically important."

This class is 10 sessions long. Each session is 3 hours. There will be no class on November 26, 2009 (Thanksgiving Day). If a make-up day is necessary, it will be held on December 10, 2009.
