Have you ever wanted to design and create your own jewelry? With Metal Clay you can do just that. In this hands-on class, You will learn the basics of METAL CLAY: designing, texturing, and finishing. All pieces will be fired in our kiln during class. If time permits, we can polish your pieces to a high shine with our tumbler. You decide in class what to make: pendants, charms or earrings.

This is a 9 hour class held over 3 weekly sessions. Each session is 3 hours long.

Sign up for Working with Metal Clay and this class, Metal Clay Basics, and save $25 off tuition. ($425 if you register for both) You must sign up with the office by phone to receive this discount at 781-891-3854.

Materials & Tools

The $45 materials fee covers one large packet of Metal Clay and in-class use of all necessary tools and texture plates

In addition students will be required to purchase the following materials from the instructor at the class. These items are needed to complete projects.

  • Badger Balm $1.00
  • Molding Material $3.00
  • Fine Silver Wire $5.00
  • Pink Nail File $1.50
  • Teflon Sheet 9" x 9" $8.00
  • Total $18.50

PMC Tool Kits

We have put together a $20 Basic PMC tool kit for students. They will be available for purchase at the class. Alternatively, if students do not want to purchase the kit, they can put a deposit down and use the kit for the duration of the class. The deposit will be returned to students on the last class, when a complete kit is returned to the school.

Basic PMC Kit ($20)

  • Tissue Blade
  • Non-stick roller
  • Red sable paint brush
  • Fine SM Sponge Sanding Pad
  • Tweezers
  • Needle Tool
  • Brass Buff

Students Should Bring:

  • Textures: i.e. stamps, lace, leaves, vintage buttons, etc.
  • A brand new deck of playing cards

Additional packets of PMC will be available to purhcase from the instructor at the class.
