Have you taken a beginning course or workshop yet know just the basics or feel you have gaps in knowledge compared to those ideas swirling around in your head that you want to make? Like—how did they attach those pearls; how did they get rid of that bezel seam; how on earth did they connect this?

This course will help you perfect various soldering skills, teach you a variety of surface embellishments ranging from basic texturing all the way to photo-etching, teach you some cold connections, and equip you with a wealth of knowledge related to the tools, equipment, and accessories that will ensure you get your projects done in an efficient and professional manner.

Here's just a sampling of what you'll accomplish: Attaching ear posts, making your own ear wires, some patination techniques, solder inlay, dapping and doming, various assembling processes, using the steel rolling mill, Bonny Doon hydraulic press, microfold brake, and proper finishing work. Also, as you are working and designing, this course will cover whether you want to cast certain components that you design. The lengthy session time will allow you to learn several skills while designing and completing pieces.

This class is 10 sessions long. Each session meets for 3 hours. There will be no class on February 19. If a make-up class is necessary, it will be held on April 9, 2009.
