One of the joys of being a blacksmith is being able to make your own tools—tools that fit, tools that are the right size, tools that have whatever special features you feel they need.
Making a hammer of any size or style uses the same set of techniques. In this class, we'll teach those techniques while making small hammers for riveting or anticlastic work.
In four 3-hour sessions, you'll punch the eye, shape, harden and temper the faces and fit the handle. All materials are included in the cost of tuition.
This class is also available on these dates:
- Thursdays, February 21 - March 13, 2008, 2 - 5 pm
