Intro to Miniature Forming and Raising Plus Hollow Ring Construction

This class will teach forming and raising techniques using the Fretz Hammers and Stakes. You will learn how to prepare patterns for sheet metal which can be formed into small vessels and hollow rings. Students will also learn proper working techniques for forming metal, and how to quickly and easily make bezel shapes that don't fall within the narrow confines of mandrels.
Demonstrations of all the various hammers and stakes will be given, including the many beautiful surface textures that can be accomplished with these special tools.
Students will leave with several samples, a Fretz tool holder, a forming stake, a mushroom stake, and hammer that will allow for forming and hollow ring making in your own studio.

Deposits:
A 50% deposit will hold your place in this class! You must call Metalwerx at 781-891-3854 to register with a deposit. It is not possible to place a deposit through our website. Office hours are Monday through Friday from 10 AM - 4:30 PM.
NOTE: After your initial deposit, the remaining cost of tuition must be completed 4 weeks prior to the start of the class. Withdrawals less than 4 weeks prior to the start of class will result in loss of deposit.
Materials & Tools
There is a materials kit for this class which includes the Fretz tools listed below as well as metal to complete projects. The estimated cost for the kit is $250 - $275 and payable to the instructor at the class.
For students who already own Fretz tools, please contact Chris directly, you will receive a discount on the materials kit fee for the tools you already have. In addition, Fretz tools will eb available for purchase at a discount during the workshop.
