Intro to Round Faceted Stone Setting
Instructor: Ms. Ann Cahoon
Level: Advanced Requirements: Jewelry II or equivalent Program: Winter Status: Open Length: 3 Days Tuition: $ 450 Materials: $ 75 Date: January 23, 2009 - January 25, 2009 Time: 10:00 AM - 5:00 PM Location: Metalwerx
In this technically focused class we will explore the fundamental techniques involved in setting round faceted stones. Starting with prong setting exercises and progressing to bezels, students will learn to handle stones, cut seats, and set securely. The focus of the class is on the setting process. We will work with commercially available prong settings but you will fabricate your own bezel settings. We will also discuss fabrication of prong settings and flush setting as time allows.
You must have completed a Jewelry II or equivalent level class and feel comfortable with the flexshaft.
