This 6 week-intensive class will focus on stone setting from bezels to prongs. You will expand your setting skills through making your own prong and tube settings for faceted stones, practice small scale soldering, and also make your own special tool for hammer setting. Strategies for using assorted grinding and deburring wheels with the flex shafts will also be discussed.
There are several assigned technique based projects which continue to perfect your jewelry skills or if you wish, time to work on your own projects. For students who have their own independent ideas, and wish to have access to an instructor for help and guidance, this is an excellent class for them. Designing and working on independent projects is strongly encouraged. Come join us and learn great stone setting tips from a pro.
This class is 6 sessions long. Each class meets for 3 hours. There will be no class on July 14, 2008. If a make-up session is necessary, it will be held on August 18, 2008.
