Take advantage of a one-day workshop that will provide immediate gratification! Learn strategies for making unique chains and linkages. A wide range of chain styles will be demonstrated and explained.

Students will make samples and experiment with a variety of fused, cold-connected, and soldered link chains. Knowledge of jewelry soldering is helpful.

Paulette Werger is a metalsmith and teacher who works in Lebanon, NH. She sells her work both nationally and internationally and is owner of Metalpeople East, a jewelry and hollow ware studio She has taught metalsmithing at the University of WI, Montana State University, and at craft schools throughout the country. She serves as trustee for Society of Arts and Crafts and is a former board member of SNAG.

Materials & Tools

Paulette will have a selection of wire in fine silver and Argentium silver for sale by the foot. Students can choose to purchase what they want at the class.

Students should bring their own jewelry hand tools including:

  • a pair of chain nose pliers
  • a compressed charcoal block
  • Optional
  • A selection of 18, 20, and 22 gauge wire in fine silver, copper, sterling, or Argentium.

SANDALS ARE NOT ALLOWED TO BE WORN IN OUR STUDIO FOR SAFETY REASONS. Make sure to wear close toed shoes to class!!!
