Loop-in-loop chains are one of the truly classical expressions of the goldsmiths art-fluid yet weighty, delicate with great strength. In this class, we will explore all of the techniques involved in creating these beautiful structures. We will cover coiling and cutting jump rings, fusing links, weaving, and finishing processes. If time allows, we will discuss clasps and terminations.
Students will begin with a chain of basic construction, and progress to more complicated structures as their knowledge of the process grows Techniques learned will be fusing, loop and loop construction, S Hook and fabricated Bayonette clasps
Prerequisite: Jewelry II or equivalent. Comfort and confidence at the torch required.
