Transportation to and from Logan Airport
If you fly into Logan and don't plan to rent a car, you can get to Waltham using public transportation or limo service.
Public Transportation: The MBTA (Massachusetts Bay Transit Authority), operates the subway, commuter rail, and buses.
The MBTA has a free shuttle service from airport terminals to the Airport MBTA station. The basic subway fare is $1.25; buy a token at the kiosk. Take the Blue Line from the airport to the intersection with the Green Line at Government Center. Transfer to a Green Line train (going towards Lechmere) and ride for two stops to North Station. From here, you can catch a Commuter Rail train to Waltham; the line that stops in Waltham is the Fitchburg/South Acton Line; the fare (as of Decemberr 2004) is $3.50.
You may also like to try the MBTA Trip Planner if you are following a more complex route. The MBTA website will be displayed in a new window; click Trip Planning.
Limos: There are at least two limo companies that provide service from Logan to Waltham. Their terms are basically the same, call at least 24 hours in advance to schedule pickup and you must supply them with your flight information and a credit card number. One company may provide a better rate than the other, so call both. Two companies that provide service to Waltham are:
Back Bay Coach, 888-222-5229
The Airporter, 877-899-6161
