| Mr. Jack Berry |

|
Jack Berry is Professor Emeritus of Biochemistry at the California State University in Long Beach and an experimental metalsmith. He stumbled into a jewelry class as a means to use some cabochons he made in a lapidary class. Amazed by the scientific and technological content of metalsmithing, he has worked in metal ever since.
For the past several years, Jack has spent most of his time developing and teaching microfolding, a miniature version of the fold forming method pioneered by Charles Lewton-Brain. According to Jack, "Fold forming and die forming are two of the most interesting metalsmithing techniques I have experienced."
One of his microfold projects can be found in the May/June 2002 issue of Lapidary Journal, along with a review of his book Repetitive Micro-Fold Forms Using an Industrial Tube Wringer: Small Scale Applications for Jewelry and Sculpture.
