Declan Halpin attended the University of North Carolina at Charlotte, Penland School of Crafts, and received his BFA from Appalachian State University in Metalsmithing, Painting, and Sculpture. He was introduced to CAD by his instructor, Margaret Yaukey, herself a student of Stanley Leichtzin. He has several years experience as a bench jeweler and CAD/CAM technician.
In 2003 Declan became a full-time artist with a studio in New Bedford, MA. He regularly uses Rhino as a communication and planning tool. He provides freelance CAD consulting to various jewelry, and product design firms around the country. His clients utilize CAD for visualization as well as outputting the models to CAM machinery, creating a physical model for molding & production.
