Metalwerx Education Scholarship, Inc.

In the arena of metalsmithing and jewelry, the last 15 years have been very challenging ones. While much of the fabrication and production of jewelry has shifted overseas, statistics gathered from high schools and art centers have seen huge increases in public demand for jewelry classes at adult education facilities, museum programs and in universities throughout the United States. Still, many metals focused departments in universities are closing down.

At Metalwerx, we believe collaboration with galleries, trade shows, conferences, universities and individuals by sharing education and technical information is vital to the health and welfare of our art. To further this agenda, Metalwerx offers not only a traditional technically-based curriculum (such as stone setting, production casting, and fabrication) but also workshops in areas such as business practices, design theory, and unusual materials and tools.

Metalwerx Educational Scholarship Inc., (MESI) provides scholarships reaching those on fixed incomes, middle and high schools students, and those in transition from one career to another.

Founded in 2003, MESI is a non-profit 501(C)3, and a partner of Metalwerx, Inc.”. MESI invites donations from individuals and corporations to help us make the education of metalsmithing accessible to all. Donations are fully tax deductible. We also welcome donations of tools, equipment, and materials.
